College was such an influential time in my life. Entering the phase of being a young adult, I was faced with so many decisions. As a college student, I got involved in Christian Challenge at Fort Hays State University where I learned to start making decisions, having relationships, and living a lifestyle honoring to the Lord. I understood to a greater depth the lovingkindness of the Lord and the grace, that literally changes lives, He extends on a daily basis. I want to help college students understand this and see what He has planned for them!

"College students can change the world!" is a belief I have held since going through Christian Challenge as a student myself. College students are a pivotal age group to reach as they are able to adjust the trajectory of their lives easily and they are in the midst of thinking through major life decisions already. They are then able to go out from the campus after graduating to reach local communities, cities, and even the nations for God's glory! I really am excited to reach the unreached on campuses and train believers to follow Christ. In my current season that looks like showing students what it looks like to seek His Kingdom first by welcoming women into our home while raising small children and having students over for meals. I am also helping out with doing the books for Challenge!

College is the time where we both really pursued our faith and surrendered our life to the Lord.  The time when we realized the Lord doesn’t just desire for us to say his name but to truly have a relationship with him and hand our entire lives over to him, being open to whatever he has made clear he is calling us to. We have experienced no greater joy than walking in his calling. We look forward to walking along side students and young adults to build relationships, share the Lord’s word, disciple and teach the ultimate meaning of surrendering our lives.

Chance runs a small tree company and Kylie stays at home with Leightyn our daughter. We also are apart of Spoon Creek Rodeo Ministries.

I gave my life to the lord in 10th grade but I don’t think I really grew in my understanding of who God is and what it means to be a follower of Christ till college. Being a part of Christian Challenge at Fort Hays State University helped me grow in my intimacy and knowledge of God. I learned also that calling myself a follower of Christ required me to live out the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and I want to be able, to walk alongside in discipleship with students. I think being born outside of the United States has given me a heart for the nations, particularly international students. I want to be able to love them just as Christ loves me. I would love to share my love of cooking and Jesus with the students at baker!!!

 Nick and Shaley Knickerbocker

College students and Christian Challenge have played an influential role in both our lives. It was a college student that first shared the gospel with me (Nick) and Christian Challenge was where both Shaley & I were trained up in discipleship through the word of God & taught how to give God Lordship of our lives. We are blessed to be a part of a ministry that has the purpose to establish relationships with young people to show them the true character of Christ and give them the opportunity to know Christ as Lord & Savior of their own lives. As part of this ministry we desire to help and support in whatever areas we can through hosting and hospitality, Bible study, discipleship, activities, manual labor, and anything else that needs to be done. We’re truly excited to see what God has in store for Baldwin college students!
